I did an interview today with Seth Harwood discussing the evolution of private eye Adrian Tannhauser, a little bit of my own evolution, and I even read a little bit from my first published short story “Green River.” Check it out right here!
Would you say that he’s (Adrian Tannhauser) out of the mold of Raymond Chandler’s essay, “Simple Art of Murder”– down these mean streets a hero must go?
Yeah, I’d say it started there, certainly but when I created the character I tried to figure out what does that look like seventy years on from when Chandler wrote that? You know, what does that character look like in the 21st century? So I crafted him around that mindset.
―Andrew C. Peterson, discussing the creation of ‘Adrian Tannhauser’ in an interview with author/editor Seth Harwood.
